16 bays 3U Rackmount SAS to SATA-II RAID Subsystem
AL-6160Sx RAID subsystem comes in modular, cable-less, highest-density 3U chassis. The RAID controller uses high performance Intel IOP processor along with intelligent cache system, which supports up to 4GB DDR-II SDRAM. With advanced algorithms to provide RAID levels: 0, 1, 3, 5, 0+1, 6 and JBOD as your option, so you can benefit either performance or availability.

AL-6160Sx adopts two miniSAS connectors for SAS HBA connection and SATA-I/II backplane for the drive connection. Depending on necessities, the customers can select AL-610Sx to take the place of Ultra320 SCSI interface-based Alnico RAID subsystem models for the ultimate in performance and fully usage of high bandwidth coming from SAS technology.

The already released AL-6160Sx perfromance testing chart shows Alnico 6 SAS RAID greatly enhances the data transfer rate 30~40% while being compared with Ultra320 SCSI interface-based Alnico RAID subsystem models. In today's industry, SATA-I/II drives are still the preference over SAS drives for the reasons that they are much more less expensive in the cost of per megabyte. Under this context, we designed the new model for Alnico RAID subsystem 6 Series in the hope that the customers can have more varied chioces, and the chance to enjoy the high stability and bandwidth of SAS technology with less cost.
